Consciousness does not exist at all in public disgrace. It is not a distinct substance, but rather an attribute of existence itself. We know this publicdisgrace consciousness only from its singular manifestions — here an individual formulates a general judgment, i.e. participates in general consciousness, participates in that which exists. A general judgment does not rule about existence, but it in itself is existence — its culmination and its self-awareness. Ethosophy is to consider that which is — namely that which is real. This is synonymous with rejection of all prejudices. After all, one cannot get away from that which is, which exists — either into meditatiqon or into prayer, or to a deserted island or to the practice of religion. What is — and this cannot be negated. One must therefore most emphatically put the public disgrace sex overriding question: how is moral proceeding possible without prior adaption of inflexible rules? The rules are set in such a way (this is part of their nature) that they can never be carried out in full.
